The Motorhome Holiday Company goes to Broadchurch

Itโ€™s official: Motorhome Holiday Company has its very own global TV star!

Well, almost.

Benji Yapp, son of Motorhome Holiday Companyโ€™s Mister Dependable, Chris Yapp, features in the hit BBC series Broadchurch as Fred Miller, the youngest son of Detective Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman). We have to admit, Benji doesnโ€™t actually say a great deal, but his improvisation is flawless, heโ€™s an absolute scene-stealer and heโ€™s so good they put him in every single episode. He even has his own IMDB page.

Heโ€™s not remotely camera shy and the bubbly personality we know and love is clearly as at ease on camera as he pretends to drive our motorhomes and โ€˜helpโ€™ with the prep, cleaning and signing out of our vehicles. Little did many of our customers know, they were in the presence of a bona fide celebrity.

Mind you, Benji has great pedigree. His dad, Chris, is also an actor and kind enough to fit his work for the Motorhome Holiday Company around his busy TV, theatre and radio schedule.

Shot across North Somerset and Dorset, numerous familiar locations stand in for the fictional town of Broadchurch, including Shepton Mallet, Clevedon and, of course, West Bayโ€™s famous cliff where Danny Latimerโ€™s body was found, which is on the Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site.

We know weโ€™re slightly biased, what with us rubbing shoulders with its star, but take it from us, the Broadchurch locations are fantastic inspiration for your next motorhome adventure. The Jurassic Coast stretches from Exmouth in South Devon for ninety-six miles to Studland Bay in Dorset and includes the world-renowned Lyme Regis, home of 71 species of ammonite. And if thatโ€™s not enough, one of its most significant landmarks, The Cobb, featured in The French Lieutenantโ€™s Woman and Jane Austinโ€™s Persuasion. So, stardom is at every turn.

Weโ€™re not promising anything, but we know a young chap whoโ€™s eager to return and just might give you a guided tour. Mind you, apparently heโ€™s just upped his fee significantly.
